LZW42 - Hubitat = SLOW

I have good news to report: I am a liar!

After carefully reviewing my device list, it seems that I had a single 300-series plug-in dimmer (Nexia RP200) which I wasn’t using anymore, but had neglected to exclude and unplug. I can’t say definitively that this was causing my issues because I did tinker with a few other things, but this makes the most sense.

In any case, these bulbs are MUCH more responsive now. I ran the same rule with 10 consecutive random color sets last night and the total time was under 8 seconds. Subjectively, I can still cause a little slow-down by spamming the Pico button, but that’s not the intended use and I’m now totally satisfied with the bulb’s performance. I just ordered a few more to sprinkle around the house.

Thanks for your thoughts, guys!

I’m glad to hear you were able to figure out and resolve some of the performance issues. Thanks for reporting back

So I am still having issues. These bulbs are not making me happy. They seem slow to respond, they take forever to ever report what is going on.

I have run repair on them a dozen times, but no go. 3 of them, I updated to the most recent beta firmware but they just do not seem to respond like they should.

my HE almost never shows they are on or off when they are.

@eatonjb - Are you using Inovelli’s driver or @bcopeland driver? This is the rare time I state this, but @bcopeland driver works better than Inovelli (or at least the drivers in the past month) and made my bulbs respond quicker and I am happy with them now.

If you are using the new bulb firmware, I highly recommend using the built-in hubitat driver (I wrote it) and when it detects that version it adjusts for even better performance.

I have a house full of these bulbs, I will always be tweaking the drivers.

Just to be clear, you are referring to this version, correct?

ok… So I changed the drivers to the Default ones, and that is great and all. What is wrong with the Inovelli drivers for one,. these work great BTW (the internal ones)

two, I installed both Inovelli drivers and @bcopeland drivers, and they both seem to show the same name (so thats confusing)

but with that being said. it’s so confusing. what ones should I use, I guess I can take the addage , if it aint broke dont fix and just sit with the HE ones. but what about new update, I also have new FW, are theHE ones going to work consitant with new firmware?

Yes… The new firmware is detected in the driver, and the driver adjusts it’s actions to take advantage of the new firmware’s benefits.

Yes

So I am trying to update my bulb firmware from 2.28 to 2.30 and am running into problems. I am using the @bcopeland Z-wave Firmware Updater in a C5 Hubitat and the firmware from Knowledge Base Redirect – Inovelli. The process seems to go until completion but the firmware version does not update. I have pressed the configure and refresh buttons with no success. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

There’s a bug in @bcopeland’s newer version when it uses a HEX file to update firmware that comes with a bootloader (according to him). If you use the previous version here, it should update:

Yep. This was the issue. Was able to update the bulbs with the older driver. Thank you for your help.

Thank you so much, this was the key for me! I upgraded the firmware and switched to the default drivers and it is SO FAST now, even when changing color on 8 bulbs at once!
