Google Home Announce if Doors are Open

Thought I’d call on the community here for some help if you guys have a moment.

Does anyone know if it’s possible for Google Home (specifically the Hub Max) to announce whether or not a door is open (similar to how alarm systems will let you know)?

I can’t seem to find any information online about it, so I’m assuming the answer is no (natively at least).

I’m pretty sure Amazon can do it, but I’m pretty invested in the Google ecosystem so I don’t really want to change.

If a hub is needed, I’d prefer it to be SmartThings, but I’m open to Home Assistant or Hubitat as a backup.

Does it show up as a media player/speaker in Home Assistant? If so, would be very easy to do it…I’ve been using the Nest Minis to similar effect.

I do this with Hubitat using Rule Machine and the (Beta) ChromeCast app.

The ChromeCast app being beta, I do find that it is hit and miss. Works most of the time, but sometimes it doesn’t…

I do mine in Home Assistant. very easy once connected up.

I use Node-RED with the Home Assistant call service node to announce vehicles entering my driveway. Domain: tts, Service: cloud_say.
