Ok, this may be a dumb question but inquiring minds want to know. Can the new On/Off switches be used to control a switched outlet? Previous owners rewired a switch inside to control an outdoor outlet where the low voltage outdoor light transformer is plugged in. I know I could add a Wemo outlet or the like but I’d rather direct control than wire the outlet to be on all the time. Is this possible or will I light something on fire?
Hey @Escher0 – great question! Yeah, it certainly can be used on a switched outlet. I actually have one hooked up in my daughters room (she has a plugged in lamp).
Just don’t use a dimmer switch on it and you should be fine
